Journalists and journalism are to be held accountable if Sajid is not granted justice – Jamal Baloch

When Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist, was killed, he was on every news channel, every newspaper and became the most important subject of discussion. His murder raised questions about human rights, about freedom of speech, about protection of journalists and overall about humanity. Almost every prominent news channel, HR organisation and journalist spoke up and demanded justice for him.
While Khashoggi’s killing was internationalized, today, a Baloch journalist and a Baloch refugee, Sajid Hussain, who was missing for two months, was found dead. The hypocrite world that speaks about humanity and human rights handed us his dead body silently and expected us to silently mourn for him. Neither a newspaper demanded justice for him, nor he was discussed on news channels. Neither the so-called human rights organizations condemned his killing, nor journalists spoke up for him in the name of protection of journalists. Neither the Swedish government nor the Swedish police did their utmost to save him and grant him the protection he really expected to get after his own homeland became a dangerous place for him.
No one spoke for Sajid when he went missing and no one spoke for him when he was found dead. All of this uncovers the hypocrisy done in the name of human rights and in the name of humanity. The protection of the poor Baloch is not beneficial to anyone except for the poor Baloch. Because of this, their issue is not taken seriously.
The world and especially these so-called humanitarian organisations only understand the language of interest; they exploit issues of the poor for their own gains. Speaking against Saudi Arabia was profitable; these organizations did not do it out of their love for humanity. When an issue, like Sajid’s killing, is not gainful for them, they remain silent.
No matter how brutally the Pakistani army have uprooted families, destroyed homes and killed thousands of Baloch people, the world will never speak and act upon it; their humanity vanishes once they have exploited an issue for their own interests. These organizations really do not care about humanity and will never act upon what truly must be acted upon, but journalists and journalism are to be held accountable if Sajid is not granted justice.
Sajid was a truthful journalist; if he is not granted justice; faith in journalism and in truth will be destroyed forever.
